New Cover Artist-Edited
I have edited the image of my main artist so that he looks like more of a maverick. I have cropped the background out and also changed the colour of the jacket and the T-Shirt. I have also put a slit in the artists eyebrow.

New masthead
This is the new masthead for my magazine, I think that it looks a lot better than my previous masthead.
Update on name of magazine
I have decided to change the name of my magazine to 'TONE', because I think that 'Filet O' Funk' was too long and wasn't as striking as my new name.
Main Image- Edited
This is the main image that I will be using on my cover after it has been edited. I have added the Crema effect so the image looks more vintage.
Main Image
This will be the main image that i will be using for the cover of my magazine, I will be getting rid of the text in the background and also adding an effect to the subject.

Types of shots I will be using-2 page spread
For my two page spread, I will be using both images of my chosen musician performing live and also creating new music in a home studio, this shows the musician at home and at peace and also shows his wild side when performing live.
Types of shots I will be using- Contents
For the contents page of my magazine, I think I will be have my musician have a pose similar to this, with a direct gaze and the actual contents to the right hand side of the image. This will show a less serious side to my chosen musician and make him seem a lot more friendly.

Types of shots I will be using-cover
On the cover of my magazine I will be using a medium shot of my musician in a casual pose and won't be using a direct gaze, which is slightly unconventional as many music magazines have the artist look straight into the camera for the front cover. I will also be using a black and white filter to give the image a touch of class.
Gold Moodboard
As the house style for the magazine is going to be black and gold, I have decided to analyse both of these colours and the connotations they give. The colour gold has a main connotation of wealth, as many expensive things such as jewellery and watches. Thus using this colour in the house style of my magazine gives the reader a sense of class and power. Using both the colours black and gold in my magazine gives a classy impression.
Black Moodboard
As the main house style for my magazine is going to be black and gold, I have decided to analyse the colour and pick out the connotations of it. Because many, if not all cameras in the 50's and 60's took pictures in black and white, the two colours today connote a vintage style to something. The soul and funk genre was very popular in that time so I think using the colour in my house style is a good idea. The colour black also connotes wealth and class, for example the grand piano which is mainly black is a privilege to many people as it is very expensive.
